Valet meet and greet airport parking is the best family friendly parking options. Just drive right to the terminal, unpack your luggage and family and proceed straight to check-in. You are met at the airport by a Valet Rep who takes your car to the secure car park. It's then brought back t the terminal for your journey home.

Individual Airline Facilities For Children ...

 
Some airlines allow families who are flying with babies or small children to board the aircraft first, or pre-book seats. Here we give details on the major airlines flying from Sheffield Airport:

BMI
- Young families are allowed to board the plane first. There are children's entertainment packs that are offered to children aged 4-8 and 9-12 when on long haul flights. Plus there's a selection of children and family film and audio channels.

British Airways - BA offer online check-in for all passengers, including families, 24 hours before check-in officially opens - go to ba.com. This online service allows passengers to select their seats, pre-order children's meals and print boarding passes - this is for groups up to 6 passengers. Once at the airport your luggage will go through the Fast Bag Drop. Families may board the craft first.

Easyjet - There are no special facilities or fast boarding for families, although you may want to pre-book their fast booking service for £5 online.

Flybe - Children's meals are available. For those travelling in Economy Plus can pre-book seats. If an Economy passenger, passengers are charged £5 to pre-book per seat online, and £8 off-line. Families are also invited to board the aircraft at the same time as those passengers who have pre-booked their seats.

Jet2 - Families are normally invited to board before other passengers. Pre-booking seats together is available to passengers for a charge of £2.50 per person.

Monarch - Families board first. Children's meals are available on the charter flights only. All young travellers are offered entertainment packs during the flight.

Ryanair - There is no special boarding for families. Snacks can be bought during the flight, most of which would be suitable for small children.

Use these helpful tips and advice when flying with babies or young children from Sheffield Airport:

    Ask for your meal to be brought back if you are feeding

    Change your baby's nappy in the boarding gate lounge just before you board

    To avoid painful ears for your baby during take off and landing offer a bottle of milk or water so the constant sucking can help relieve pressure
